" Revelers began as a collection of personal favorites and misfits I couldn’t let go of. I had written a pile of songs and narrowed down the top 20 or so, but I had only planned as far as my guitar and main vocal parts. There were no set plans for instrumentation, and in some cases not even a faint picture of what the song could grow up to be. They just felt good to play and sing.
Conceptually and lyrically, these songs are about memories, dreams, sweetness, bitterness, childhood, adulthood, anxiety, envy, and letting go of belonging. See if you can figure out which is which. This is probably at least 50% cop-out, but yeah, I prefer to let people decide what the songs mean to them on their own time. There are probably some wrong answers, but mostly, you’re right.
